Central Park Walking Tour

Walk Central Park, swap streets for trees

2.5 hours • Walk • bottom of the park

What this Tour is

For guests who wish to experience Central Park's most iconic spots, the places that live in film, history, and the overall story of New York. Bottom of the park.

Not too fast, not too slow walking tour.

Mostly flat, few big hills.

Few brief stops to see what the park unfolds in the moment.

The journey

We begin outside one of the park's major corners, Grand Army Plaza, across the street from The Plaza Hotel.

🌲 Part 1: Gapstow Bridge → Wollman Rink → The Dairy

30 minutes

🌲 Part 2: The Mall → Sheep Meadow → Bethesda Terrace

45 minutes

🌲 Part 3: Boathouse → The Ramble → Bow Bridge

45 minutes

Why Central Park?

My greatest teacher, this open-air classroom under the trees. Much of New York’s story comes into focus right here: from native land, to Seneca Village, to the Gilded Age, to today. The park holds so much of the unfolding story. There’s no better place to take it all in: nature, street musicians, squirrels, and the people of the park.

🌲 Part 4: Cherry Hill → Strawberry Fields ending

30 minutes
